Artistic Glass for the Most Demanding Environment at Sea

The finest Italian art glass, made by hand in Rome since 1987.

A superyacht is the most demanding commission in decorative glass. Every panel must endure salt air, continuous vibration, thermal cycles, and structural movement — while meeting the aesthetic and technical standards expected in a vessel where every detail has been specified to the highest level.
Studio Vetrarte has completed stained glass and etched crystal commissions for superyachts including CRN-built vessels, working directly with fit-out contractors, interior designers, and shipyards across Italy and Europe.

Completed Marine Commissions

M/Y Romance — CRN Superyacht

Etched crystal decorative panels, designed and executed in collaboration with the vessel's interior fit-out team. CRN is among Italy's most prestigious superyacht builders; working within their supply chain requires absolute precision in specification, fabrication, and delivery.

M/Y IDynasty I

Bespoke etched and decorated crystal panels across multiple interior spaces. The commission required coordination with the vessel's design team to develop a coherent visual programme that worked with the yacht's existing material palette.

M/Y IDynasty II

Follow-on commission for the second vessel in the IDynasty series, confirming the confidence of the client and design team in our studio's capacity to repeat and refine the original work.

Technical Specifications for Marine Applications

Structural fixings: panels are designed to accommodate vessel movement without stress fractures, with flexible mounting systems incorporated where required.
Surface treatments: etched and sandblasted surfaces are sealed against salt ingress and moisture. All kiln-fired grisaille enamels are chemically stable and impervious to marine atmosphere.
Safety compliance: panels supplied in laminated safety glass (stadip) or with polycarbonate backing where classification requirements mandate it.
Logistics: all marine commissions are crated to shipyard specifications and delivered to vessel or fit-out facility. We coordinate directly with the yard's logistics team.

Working with Design Teams and Fit-Out Contractors

We provide full technical documentation — dimensional drawings, weight specifications, fixing details, and material data sheets — compatible with standard superyacht design software and shipyard processes. Initial consultations can be conducted remotely. Samples and prototypes available on request. We work under NDA where required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can stained glass survive the marine environment?

Yes. All glass supplied for marine environments is specified with flexible mounting systems, sealed etched surfaces to prevent salt ingress, and kiln-fired enamels that are chemically stable in marine atmosphere. Panels can also be supplied in laminated safety glass configurations where classification requirements mandate it.

Do you work directly with superyacht shipyards and fit-out contractors?

Yes. We provide full technical documentation compatible with standard superyacht design processes, including dimensional drawings, weight specifications, fixing details, and material data sheets. We coordinate directly with the yard's logistics team and work under NDA where required.

Which yachts have you worked on?

Completed marine commissions include M/Y Romance (CRN superyacht) and M/Y IDynasty I and II. Details are available upon request for qualified enquiries.

Do you install the glass on board the yacht?

Yes. For projects requiring on-site installation, Paolo Corpetti travels with the installation team. For projects where local installation is preferable, we provide complete technical documentation and remote support for the local team.

How do I start a marine glass commission?
